Currently running XP, when I try to use compatibility settings for 95/98/ME it closes right after the start up screen shot saying "MW4 has encountered a problem and needs to close blah blah blah." When using XP or 2000, it moves beyond the initial screen shot, then I get the black box but the following code immediately pops up and I'm given the options of continue or exit, neither of which are productive. Here's the code:
FAILED (0x80070057 - WINERR_One or more arguments are invalid ) - Set(0x1798e00: EAX_ReverbProperties, EAX_ENVIRONMENT)
Anyone see this before? Any pointers? Would love to get this game working, thanks in advance for any pointers!

Please check message #2910 in this section. It is a post by "killian". If you follow his advice to disbale the opening video, your problem may go away.
I had the same problem as you and his solution worked.
