I have 2 computers, both running Windows XP, let's refer to them as compA and compB. One has an ATI 9600 Pro (compA) the other has an NVidia 5200 (compB). When I start Mechwarrior on compA and get to the menu, the screen is off-center about 1/2 an inch or so to the left. I've uninstalled and reinstalle multiple times and have also updated my graphic drivers. It doesn't prevent the game from running, it's just really annoying. CompB runs fine.

Make sure that your monitor has the correct driver .
1- Make sure you monitor is identified as Plug & Play or WinXP is using your Monitor driver. 2- Right Click an empty space in your desktop and click PROPERTIES, in the display properties, click the followings: SETTINGS, ADVANCED, DISPLAYS, MONITOR. On monitor attributes, you will see that "USE DDC INFORMATION" is marked, and you will also see that the maximum resolution and refresh rate for your monitor are selected. Uncheck "USE DDC INFORMATION" and press APPLY. Now you can select ANY refresh rate supported by your monitor.
Use your monitors controls to adjust the image ingame

In additon to what's mentioned above, some monitors have controls to adjust the size and position of the image on screen.
I had a gateway monitor that would store adjustments I'd make for a particular resolution and refresh rate--set it once and forget it. Ive had other monitors that I'd have to adjust every time...
the controls, if they aren't separate knobs on the monitor, would be accesible through the menu or "OSD". Its different for every model. Check the manual for details.
