"Anyone get a 360?"

So, for those actually interested in getting a 360, and trying to get one, have you actually managed to get one? It's been out a few weeks now, and I've yet to physically see one at any store near me other than the one they have on display. I'm getting annoyed. Plenty of peripherals and games to choose from, but that's all pointless without the system.

After buying the first one just a month prior to when they cut to price by like a third, I holding off on this one. Having the newest thing out just isn't that important to me anymore.

Going to wait.

Read and article about some guy in the mid-west who is putting a class-action suit against them for heat realated shut-down issues in many of the units already sold.

He is stating that M$ delibrately released them with known defects just to beat PS3 and make if by X-mas.

Sides, 1st gen of both the X-box and PS2 had issues out the bazoo and besides the games are 10 bucks more. Definately gonna wait till sainity and engeineering flaws are resolved.

That guy is nothing but a moneygrubbing dumb f**k.

You know what you do if your Xbox/Xbox 360 has a problem? You calmly calls Microsoft support, and they first send you an empty prepaid FedEx/UPS/Whatever box for the 360, then they, free of charge for you, ship it to be repaired/replaced, and then, again free of cahrge, send it back to you.

The DVD-drive on my first Xbox went bust after 8 months or so, and all it took was a single phonecall to Microsoft, and 3 days later I had my Xbox back with a replacement DVD-rom.

There are always some defects in products, espesially new ones. The PS2 had just as high a failure rate at the start for instance.

Yeah. How dare he! We all know Microsoft didn't really mean to screw the consumer, it just happened that way.

That's awesome, it's an unnecessary--but free --inconvenience, courtesy of Microsoft!

Do they have cross-ship options available? If not, that would suck.

*hugs his 360*

I showed up 20 minutes before opening at one of the bigger electronics stores here in Oslo, and was #32 in line. They had 46 Premiums and 10 Core systems.

Got PGR3 and PDZ sofar

I spent my money on an awesome-ass mp3 player (NOT an ipod) instead. If I were to get a 360, I have no idea where I would put it. I have too many game systems and not enough TV's.

You should just get a big badass stereo receiver, a sub and a couple of sat speakers and run everything (dvd, xbox, whatever) through it. Than you just need one TV. This set up been working straight for me for a few years now.

About the thing with the bugs lawsuit, it could probably be argued that MS owes b/c they sold a product they knew to be faulty. The key word is class action, which means that it’s being brought against MS by several parties. If I got this wrong Crow can correct me, I haven’t quite passed the bar yet.

Nice that it was free but all the same I'm going to wait for the failure rate to taper down.

Tired of being the chump that has to be without his "cool toy" because it has s**t parts in it. I'd just assume bypass that Oh-so polite customer service rep in New Dehli's scripted excuses and apologies and buy one that has all the bugs ironed out.

Although I'm getting more than a little mad that I won't be able to play my favorites on it and I'm starting to think--"WHy buy something that makes my life more complicated or makes me lose hundreds of dollars worth of games. I mean I got like 20 games at least for my X-box and seeing that I paid retail (around 40 to 50 dollars each)I'm looking at potentially kissing off $800.00 in games because if this reinvented widget.

Hell! the games that I've seen out for it are $60.00, that is a 10.00 dollar increase already.

I'm even thinking that I'll jut wait till next year and buy one from some desperate tweaker for 50 bucks and see what happens.

I'm thinking that it's like buying a new TV that only gets 4 or 5 chanels, sure the picture is a little better but my old TV had 400 chanels. Why step down?

Don't give me that hack kneed excuse about it being leaps and bounds ahead of the old one. I've played the demos and can only say that it looks better. Online play is the same old crap with stupid 12 year olds being fools and screaming at you through the head set. All I'm going to get is more eye candy. Granted I'm one of those guys who bought a Geforce 7800 GTX as soon as I could which makes me a graphics nut, matter of fact I'm going SLI as soon as I can afford it but not at the cost of not being able to play my favorite games if that were the case.

So I'm having a tough time with this. I can't help but feel that I'm getting abused by M$ again and I'm getting tired of it. My butt already hurts from all the abuse its gotten and this is looking like another man in the line behind me.

**Insert witty phrase here**

I agree whole-heartedly. I never really cared about graphics; I run most of my games on 800x600 or 1024x720 even though I can go higher. Xbox live is for social rejects who can't type and halo fanboys who think they're "the sh--" because they can snipe you in halo 2 which has got to be the easiest game to snipe in in the history of games. The only possible use for a 360 I can see is Halo 3 or Mechassault 3, which will probably look beautiful but really eat the meat when it comes to gameplay.

I'm not waiting so much on failure rate, just not going to spend $400 on something new that I can wait 8-12 months for an buy for half the new price refurbished (which is as good as new), or that they will cut the price on anyway.

In the meantime, I'll be getting a PS-2 and a bunch of games for it...oh about a dozen or so games since I buy them used as well...and still not spend $400.

Its not about MS bashing, it just comes down to dollars and cents...and I want to get the most that I can for those dollars and cents.

By the time you finish 12 ps2 games, there will be Xbox 900, considering at least one of those games is one of those japanese RPGs that take 2000 hours to complete.

The last game I bought and got all the way through was "Brothers in Arms." I couldn't even finish "Splinter Cell 3", damn they made that one hard. Although I did find a way to get through "Rome: Total War" and it's expansion through the course of an entire year. That's PC so I'm not sure if it counts. Funny how when you got the cash to spend on this stuff, you got no time for it.

I miss some good old-fashion RPGs on the PC

I long for the days of Baldur's Gate II, and the Ultima Series (okay, not Ultima 9). I'd pay nicely to have the old Ultima games brushed up a little graphically (not radically, just better resolutions) and issued again

Nowadays games takes hours to complete, not days.

I got caught up in the hype and went out searching on the day it was released. After coming to my senses and looking at the launch titles themselves I decided it could wait. The only titles I'm really interested in all have a PC counterpart so its not like I'm missing anything. By spring 2006 there should be a decent amount of titles that justify a purchase at that point. We can all meet up when Chrome-Hounds and Armored Core are released

Sounds good, that Chrome-Hounds thing looks great, hopefully the gameplay is good. Something halfway between MA and Steelbattlion.

I have to agree here. When comparing PS2 to X-Box/360. PS-2 has more titles than both X-Boxes combined (at least ones worth playing). I can wait on the X-Box360.

I'm waiting untill Morrowind: Oblivion comes out before I even think about getting a 360 and even then I will probably wait untill I can get a used one for $200,by then I could probably pick up a few older titles for a good price as well. Although even if I paid $400 for the 360 it would still be cheaper then making a computer that could run Oblivion decently.
