I think most places are being stingy with the shipping right now cause they know people will buy it regardless. I did notice there is a Collector`s Edition for $5 more that comes in a tin case and with a bonus DVD. Both GameStop and EBGames have it for the same price (54.99), but neither is offering free shipping yet (not even for the 49.99 version). EBGames has midnight pickup at some locations.

For anyone who happens to have do the "Best Buy Rewards" program, you get an extra 10k points for buying the game there this week. Tack on the 5k you get for the game itself, and that's $5 back. (the difference between the colletors and regular edition.)
Picked up the game, rather like the way the made the manual in the collector's edition to be from the Covenant's point of view.
Also, they warn you up front on the DVD (I was going to listen to/watch it while working today) that there will be lots of spoilers and such on the DVD. Since I like a good story, I promptly stopped the movie.
Tried Live this morning, seems there's not a whole lot going on in america at 7am EST.
Played for about 2 hours last night. Really enjoying the story. I've had a few moments of "Um, now where do I go?" while playing. But that happened to me a lot in Halo as well. You'd think there'd be some sort of rudamentary waypoint, or at least "go north" system in place. Ah well.

Mezo and I played last night for an hour or two. Dang that was fun. Little more downtime than I'd like to see between games, but perhaps that will speed up as they work things out.
I went and checked out the bungie site, the stats they track there are amazing. Right downto maps of the level that show where you died, where the killer was, and what they were using as a weapon. And the same for your kills as well.

Ok, I have a problem....
I have the regular version of the game ( not the special edition ) And at the end of the single player game, I think its when you see the last cinamatic of the master chief coming back to earth on that covenant ship that he hithced a ride on, the game just ends...
does anyone know what I'm talking about? That can't be the end of the game, If it is its a waste of 50 bucks. Please help me

The instruction booklet that comes with the limited edition is from the Covenant point of view as well. That is about the only real difference you missed. Though I might add that now that I've watched it I think the DVD that came with it on the making of Halo and Halo2 was worth the extra five dollars.
