I may have missed a few things but in one of my battletech books it talks about The WoB Jihad and all that then it says," Devlin stone asked for and received all planets within a 30 light-year radius around Terra." How does one go about asking for something like that?

With a big army. But not all gave them away freely. Capellans and some Mariks fought against it, but lost.
I think it is him in the novels that destroyed/disabled the hpg and has the tech and the force to retake the Republic when he feels the need. you know like a god watching from the sideline and when nothing is going on just cause some havoc and watch the wars and laugh. heck i would do it.

oh? you know that he passed a law that made all mechs decommisioned? he pry has a secret attack force so once he feels its right he will attack the entire inner sphere when they are most weak. but this is only a geuss lol
The way i see it, the republic has become majorly oppressive and he is tryintoo wreck the republic and rebuild it as non oppressive in any form. But that is my feeling, as i hav only gotten the books at random, and the latest i hav is By Temptations and By War.
What we fear is not the darkness itself, but what is in it.
