I'm actually fine with that simply because I believe a new developer needs to do the next MW (if it ever gets done) to bring a fresh perspective to it.
Some studios I think would do a good job:
- Pandemic - Irrational Games - Rare - Red Storm - Bioware
The guy writing about may not have noticed but that is an AGEIA PhysX demo. 360 and PS3 can support the PhysX software environment... but to use hardware acceleration requires a PC with a PhysX card. Skies was also a weak seller on the XBox, but was long lasting on the PC... it's only being given up by some people now because it doesn't play nice with Vista.
MS is just at the start of a big push to rebirth the PC as a gaming platform, even announcing they are returning to Train Sim after announcing that they wouldn't do another one. The new Train Sim is based on the Flight Simulator X engine... gonna be interesting how they do ground level in the FS engine. Lots of folks in the FS community will be watching very closely to see how much can be carried over.
There are two types of pilots...fighter pilots and targets...and I'm not sure about all the fighter pilots.
